3)Hadn't it been an everyday expression uttered and observed by a journalist-turned translator that Joe something maintains close ties with Doe something? Hasn't he had any odd feeling, making the famous protagonist wear a neat tie out of the blue? Hasn't he developed any sense that distinguishes between the singular noun expression(to wear a neat tie) and the plural noun expression (to maintain close ties)?
